Simply the best for argon gas retention
High-performance insulating glass windows are made up of only the best components, such as all foam warm edge spacer systems, low-emissivity glass (low-e) and weather resistant frames. Gas filling is another effective way to ensure the system achieves optimal efficiencies.
At manufacture, an inert gas – usually argon or krypton – is injected between the two glass lites in an insulating glass unit (known in the industry as IG). The gas is then sealed into the unit to slow convection that causes drafts.
Whether argon gas will do its job throughout the life of the window system depends on the seal. Super Spacer® resists argon gas absorption, providing the industry’s most consistent seal and gas loss rates of less than one percent – compared to two percent or more with spacers containing metal.
